So I finally got a MacBook Pro 13" (Specs to come) and so far I am loving it. I plan to post weekly about my switch to a native OS X device. Some of you may remember that I've been a Mac Addict since I first started working / playing with Macs back with iMac. While I didn't own each model I have owned several different model iMacs and Performa's, etc.
At some point it just wasn't financially realistic to keep up my Apple-lover membership so I switch to Windows. Turns out that was a good thing though because it led me down the road of network administration, client-server admin, desktop OS expert as well as a career where large infrastructures were dependent on me. I am guessing that if I had stayed on the Apple path I would never take the career path I did which turns out was a good thing. Of course at some point I ventured back into the creative side of technology with web design and development.
When that happened I started toying with "hackintosh" systems so I could have the best of both. I still love the stable environment you get on a Mac so I've been looking for a reason to upgrade to a MacBook Pro (MBP). I always considered MBP's to be the best representation of the laptop genre so you can tell I am extremely pumped to get to work using the new system.
I still have my Dell XPS M1530 which is hands down my favorite Windows-based laptop and it rocks. It just wont get as much use from this point forward.
So in closing, this was a long post for me, I plan to keep the site up to date on how the experience is going. It should be good, feel free to share what apps are your favorites and what you think I should be looking at. Tips & Tricks are always welcome too.
Till Next Time - Curtis
